You'll have to drill it. What ever you do, DO NOT try working the drive side bolt against the split pin in an incremental effort to unscrew the shock bolt..... this will lead you to ruin the nut and the linkage. ouch. this was a suggestion on ridemonkey.......

I can't help you Jonny (so pointless post I know) but I do empathise with you. I changed the brakes on my CRC sunday and could only get the top mount off the shock. Tried to take the bottom one out and just new that if I turned any harded the soft allan key bolt would round. So I just left it. Was then a bitch to feed through my brake leaver.

Have been wondering what i would do if I needed the shock off, which I will have to do at some piont, so any solutions or advice would be most welcome.

Hi,

I've bought one of the last sunday frames from CRC and have just received a stiffer than standard spring. went to fit it and got the top pin out, got the counter sunk bolt on the NONdrive side out and then couldn't get the drive side bolt out - its totally stuck in there and I've now rounded the head of the counter sunk bolt off getting trying to undo it.

Any thoughts or am I totally boned? I'm reluctant to drill down into the bolt head for fear of trashing the aluminium bolts that screw into the linkage and I don't know what else to do? Have thought about sliding a steel rule into the split on the NON drive side but haven't got one that fits, this should provide enough leverage to unscrew from the non drive side?

any ideas gratefully received.

Cheers.

Any updates on this?

We all know now that IH is part of Dorel, yet, I haven't seen a re-activation of the brand itself.

Looking forward to hear from this pretty soon as a proud IH owner (started with a Sachem, then a Sunday and then another Sunday which I currently own). Then again, still worried about spare parts, re-selling value and the support fromt he company itself, not including my eagerness to see the name in the WC again.

Huh
